God Is Doing A Work In You

God uses difficulties to do a work in us.  We grow in the tough times.  That’s when our character is being developed.  God will not allow a difficulty unless He has a divine purpose for it.  If we’re going to reach our highest potential, we have to make up our mind, “I’m not going to live frustrated because I am uncomfortable.  I’m not going to be upset because things are not happening on my timetable.  I’m not going to fight against everything that I don’t like.” Instead, believe that God is doing a work in you.  Believe that He has the best for you.  And see yourself moving forward in the victory He has prepared for you.  Joel Osteen

God is Our Refuge and Strength

If you are currently in a storm, God is saying, “Rise above it.  Quit fighting.  Quit trying to change things that only I can change.  Trust in Me.”  Joel Osteen

One of my favorite quotes from Joel Osteen.  God does not look at difficulties as we do. Where we see difficulties he sees opportunities. Where we see a challenge, He sees growth. God’s purpose in times of crisis and trouble is to teach us His precious lessons. He wants to use our tribulations for good, to build us up, to make us better and stronger for our personal growth and in turn for us to be able to help others in their lives.  We need to see the joy and opportunities through challenging times. Because we will learn that there is a sweet and wonderful happiness we can have here too.  We can learn to make our life joyful by seizing the challenge and growing from it.

So when God tests you, or bad things happens, see it as a time for you to learn, grow and to trust Him while putting His promises in your heart and soul.  And when the storm is over we can look back and see that our trials have been necessary; we have changed for the better.

Psalms 46:1

Cast Your Cares

Worry is the Devil’s trick.

It can make your body sick.

If you let it have its way, It will steal your joy away.

Worry fills your mind with doubt, and tells you things will not work out.

A doubting heart cannot believe. A worried mind can not receive.

Cast Your Care

Feed your faith.

Take time to pray.

Cast your cares on God each day.

Worried thoughts make you distressed.

But God is good.

He wants you blessed.

A Story About A Frog

The best way to develop a positive attitude is by watching the words you use.  “Plus” words – ones that encourage and “minus” words – ones that can destroy.  In order to succeed we need to understand that words, whether spoken to yourself or by others, are powerful and can make or break you or another person.  The following story is a strong case for giving positive support:

A group of frogs was traveling through the woods and two of them fell into a deep pit.  All the other frogs gathered around the pit.  When they saw how deep the pit was, they told the unfortunate frogs they would never get out.  The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit.

Frog StoryThe other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead.  Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and simply gave up.  He fell down and died.

The other frog continued to  jump as hard as he could.  Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and suffering and just die.  He jumped even harder and finally made it out.  When he got out, the other frogs asked him, “Why did you continue jumping?  Didn’t you hear us?”

The frog explained to them that he was deaf.  He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

There is a power of life and death in our words.  Develop a positive attitude by speaking “plus” words.

God Has A Better Plan For You

Have you ever had one of those days or weeks when it’s just one thing after another?  Sure you have and me too that’s why I’m sharing this great story to remind us that the challenges we face are only a temporary and no matter how bad things may seem, God is in control at all times.  Instead of asking God why, trust Him. Then focus on how to meet these challenges and work on solutions.

This great story made me realize as difficult my challenges may be, God has a better plan and is with me always. I’m thankful for His love and understanding.

Better Plan

Me: God, can I ask You a question?

God: Sure.

Me: Promise You won’t get mad.

God: I promise.

Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today?

God: What do u mean?

Me: Well, I woke up late.

God: Yes.

Me: My car took forever to start.

God: Okay.

Me: At lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait.

God: Huummm.

Me: On the way home, my phone went DEAD, just as I picked up a call.

God: All right.

Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home ~I just want to soak my feet in my new foot massager & relax. BUT it wouldn’t work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did You do that?

God: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had to send one of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that.

Me (humbled): OH…

GOD: I didn’t let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road.

Me: (ashamed)

God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn’t want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn’t afford to miss work.

Me (embarrassed):Okay.

God: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn’t even let you talk to them so you would be covered.

Me (softly): I see God.

God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a shortage that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn’t think you wanted to be in the dark.

Me: I’m Sorry God.

God: Don’t be sorry, just learn to Trust Me…. in All things , the Good & the bad.

Me: I will trust You.

God: And don’t doubt that My plan for your day is Always Better than your plan.

Me: I won’t God. And let me just tell you God, Thank You for Everything today.

God: You’re welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I Love looking after My Children…

I found this story shared throughout the internet.  Author Unknown

Jesus is the Reason

Jesus is the Reason

Christmas isn’t showy gifts or glittering decoration; it’s honoring our Savior, Jesus Christ in humble adoration. It’s serving those less fortunate, meeting their needs before our own; it’s making sure at Christmas time that no one is alone. It’s taking what we would have spent on things that no one needs, and using it to help someone with service and good deeds. Our Savior showed us how to live with charity, faith and service. It makes the holidays a joy, more peaceful, and less nervous. So let’s remember Christmas is about our Savior’s birth; that’s the way to happiness, the way to peace on earth.  By Joanna Fuchs
